Kathy
Licensed Veterinary Technician / Inventory Manager
Kathy chose to become a Licensed Veterinary Technician later in life. It turned out to be one of the best decisions she’s made! Kathy loves being able to make the lives of patients and their owners better on a daily basis. Client education is her strong suit and she believes that helping an owner understand their pet makes for a stronger and more meaningful relationship between an owner and their pet.
When not at work, Kathy shares a home with her 17 year old son. They are owned by 4 Golden Retriever’s and a multitude of cats. When she has a spare 5 minutes, Kathy can be found with her nose stuck in a book. Unless, of course, a cat takes exception and climbs onto her lap and lays down on top of the book!
Sheranda
Sheranda’s love for animals began at a young age. It wasn’t until her sophomore year in high school that she decided to go into the veterinary field and she was 21 when she was able to go to school. Sheranda graduated from Alfred State College in 2006.
Sheranda started working at Honeoye Falls Veterinary Hospital in August 2008. She absolutely loves spoiling all the dogs by giving cookies – at least to the ones that will accept them! Sheranda also loves to snuggle with the cats.
When not working, she enjoys time with her husband and 2 boys, ages 20 & 8. They all love to go four wheeling, fishing and sitting around campfires in the summer. Sheranda currently has 2 dogs, a lab named Dodger who is 13, and a beagle named Tucker who is almost 15.
Ariel
Ariel spent her childhood adoring animals. Her favorite thing to do was visiting the zoo and spending time with her pets. She has always held a special place in her heart for cats. Ariel didn’t have a plan to become a veterinarian when she grew up but learned what a Licensed Veterinary Technician did and she decided that was what she really wanted to do.
Ariel graduated from Alfred State College with a degree in Veterinary Technology in 2007 and has worked in several general practices as a small animal Licensed Veterinary Technician.
Outside of work, Ariel enjoys spending time with her husband and their 5 cats: Willy, Mr. Todd, Bella, Hamilton & Gatsby.
Nicole
Licensed Veterinary Technicians
I grew up with every type of animal; from cats and dogs to lizards, tarantulas, snakes, birds and rabbits. I always knew I wanted to work with animals to actually understand their needs and give them the best life possible. I started in the field in 1997 as a kennel attendant and have worked every position in an animal hospital. I Graduated from Medaille in 2016 as a licensed veterinary technician and couldn’t be happier. I enjoy every aspect of veterinary medicine from puppy and kitten visits, routine health check-ups, and client education; but my favorite is anesthesia and surgery. I found my fit at Honeoye Falls Veterinary Hospital recently with a team of people that have that same passion for animals; it is wonderful to work with a team that has the same goals as you, and to give your animal the best possible care! I have 4 teenagers at home, 2 dogs- Hannah and Atlas, 7 cats, and 11 chickens! When time allows, I enjoy camping, hiking, continuing my education (I just recently became a certified wild animal rehabilitator), and just spending time with my children, animals as well as my boyfriend Chad.
Hannah
Licensed Veterinary Technicians
After being raised on a farm with many different animals, Hannah knew she wanted to work with animals. She was given the opportunity to shadow at a veterinary hospital in middle school and saw that a Veterinary Technician is what she wanted to be.
Hannah graduated from GCC in 2018 with a degree in Veterinary Technology. She worked for a small GP hospital for 5 years before finding a home at HFVH.
When Hannah is not at work, she can be found spending time with her husband, 2 dogs (Tresa and Rue), and getting her hands on any book she can find.
