Appointment Process

“We always have a great experience at the office with very little waiting time. The staff is very knowledgeable as well as friendly, courteous and caring with us and whatever pet we bring to them. A good explanation of treatment options is always provided prior to providing care. Usually, the visits are also a good learning experience. On the most recent visit we learned about new pheromone products to help cats or dogs overcome stress and anxiety issues.”  -Linda & Mike, Honeoye Falls

Transporting your pet & arrival for appointments.

For your safety, as well as your pet’s, please have your pet on a leash or in a carrier. (A cardboard box with good ventilation is an adequate substitute for cats).  Click here for transportation tips for your feline from Dr. Marty Becker! If you suspect your pet may have a communicable disease, let us know you’re here while your pet waits in the car. We will then bring you directly into the exam room when it is time to be seen. Clients in the reception room will also appreciate these extra steps.

Have a pet that is anxious for their appointment? Please ask our receptionists for a towel or bandana sprayed with stress relieving pheromones- Adaptil (for dogs) or Feliway (for cats). The transformation is often remarkable!

Fees And Payment

Our fees are determined by the time and expertise involved in your pet’s care, along with the medications, equipment and supplies that are used to render the services. When your pet is undergoing testing or hospitalized, we do our best to generate accurate treatment plans, including estimated costs. When your pet is hospitalized, we encourage you to call for daily progress updates. At that time you may also check on your bill.

In an effort to keep our costs down, and therefore yours, payment is due at the time your pet’s care is provided. For your convenience, in addition to cash and checks, we accept Visa, MC, Discover and debit cards. You may also apply for Care Credit through our office.

“I have been taking my dogs here for many years and I have consistently found the staff to be very kind and their knowledge to be very practical in treating my dogs’ needs accurately. Beyond that, I have not experienced them to be excessive in their treatment process but rather very pragmatic while making suggestions as opposed to forcing their opinions. I had experienced other vets sell me on unnecessary treatments that HFV helps solve without extra expenses.”   -Ron, Rush
