Elise is a great asset to our technician team here at Honeoye Falls. She has a B.S. in Wildlife Science and Management and also had a research paper published in her sophomore year of college. She has a loving, supportive husband of 5 years, a Pitbull mix (Indy), and a Green Cheeked Conure (Topaz).
Elise says when Indy (AKA, Indiana “Puppydog” O’Brien) wants to be heard, he will start whining and muttering to strike up a conversation. He also has those “magical eyes” which never fail to get him off the hook. He is such a part of the family that Elise and her husband always joke about naming their first born son Indiana so they can tell people he is named after the dog!
Traveling is a passion of Elise’s. She has been to Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France and many other countries. She says her favorite trip was when she spent close to 2 weeks on the island of Dominica hiking throughout the nature trails. Being a bird lover growing up, she says she was in complete awe when she could finally see wild parrots flying freely for the first time. “The views were breathtaking!”
Some other interests of hers are home improvement, gardening, arts & crafts and reading.
Elise says, “I am so lucky to work with such a talented, caring, and gifted staff here at Honeoye Falls. Everyone here tries so very hard to make clients and their pets feel like family, and we all work together to make their experience comfortable while giving them the best care as possible.” Her favorite part of the job is being able to make a difference in our clients and their pets lives. “It is an incredible feeling when a really sick patient comes in close to death and we are able to nurse them back to health.”
